The Council undertook a number of biodiversity audits in 2023, of its key protected nature sites, as part of the preparation of the biodiversity strategy.
We have now secured funding to carry out further audits and prepare summary management plans that will set out how we can manage our sites to improve them for biodiversity. \r \r The Council is looking to procure professional services to work with the Biodiversity & Greenspaces Team to carry out an audit of 38 biodiversity assets and then use this to inform the Councils biodiversity strategy. \r \r The contract will be split between an intensive period of up to four months, April to July, carrying out site surveys as part of the audit, then drafting summary management plans by November 2025. \r
