English Heritage-National Collections: Historic Properties
Historic Lighting testing, packing and storage, Marble Hill House - AWARD
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits below the typical range for Electrical Machinery & Apparatus contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 5,617 valued Electrical Machinery & Apparatus tenders in our corpus.
A programme of building and electrical works to facilitate increased visitor access to Marble Hill House will be taking place from Dec 2019 for a period of 12 months.
As a consequence of these works it will be necessary to move the collection and all movable historic fixtures and fittings, including all historic lighting elements to storage for the duration of the works.
Due to the fact that there is a tight timescale for the decant and reinstallation of the collection, the tenderer is being asked to consider two scenarios: Scenario 1: - To remove, pack, clean, test, repair as necessary, store and reinstall all the lighting elements listed in Appendix 4.3 and to ensure they are all in working order.
Scenario 2: - To survey the safety, stability and working order of all lighting elements listed in Appendix 4.3 in situ prior to them being removed, - To provide an estimate of cost, methodology and programme of repair for those lighting element which require repair (i.e., would they need to be removed to the tenderers' premises for repair) - To be in attendance in order to make safe and to provide guidance on the removal and packing of all lighting elements by other art handling contractors - To be in attendance when the lighting elements are returned to the property in order to clean them, undertake any in-situ repairs necessary and to assist with their reinstallation.
