The brief

In this present instance, ESPO is working on behalf of Leicestershire County Council to undertake a procurement process to identify and appoint service providers to provide two services, for adults in Leicestershire who live their lives with impaired sight or combined sight and hearing impairment, which will be divided into two lots as follows.

Lot 1 - Visual Impairment and Rehabilitation Service Lot 2 - Specialist Library Service for Visually Impaired Adults Tenderers are able to apply for one, or both lots.

The desired support and rehabilitation service outcome is to enable service users to live in the community with the maximum level of independence.

The service provider will also be responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place to produce and maintain a register of adults in Leicestershire which comply with the relevant aspects of The Care Act 2014 and The Care and Support (Registers) Regulations 2014.

The specialist library service will include assessment of service user needs and will provide eligible service users with access to books and information in an appropriate format.

The contract has the option to extend for up to a further 24 months.

The total estimated value stated includes the option period.

This is a notice for social services in accordance with Directive 2014/24/EU Article 74.
