The brief

NHS Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group (HVCCG) would like to advise the market place of their intention to procure a suitable provider to deliver a Nutrition and Dietetics Service in west Hertfordshire.

HVCCG is committed to the provision of high quality, dedicated and professional care for patients with related dietetic conditions, centred on clinical assessment and treatment by getting the patient onto the appropriate management pathway.

The Nutrition and Dietetics service will provide person-centred care through a co-ordinated and integrated approach to diet management.

High quality outcomes that matter to patients will be delivered in easily accessible community locations across the Herts Valley catchment area.

In addition, the Nutrition and Dietetics service will include a multi-disciplinary tier 3 approach to Obesity Management, including psychological and endocrinology input.

This service will improve the monitoring of patient outcomes and offer an intensive obesity management service closer to patients' homes.

The aim is to deliver a community Nutrition and Dietetics service which will: • Provide a high quality evidence based service within the community • Provide an equitable and accessible community based service to HVCCG patients • Reduce outpatient dietetic activity within secondary care • Provide care to patients in an safe and convenient environment • Promote patient self-management • Facilitate evidence based management of patients within the community through the provision of education and support for health and social care staff • Ensure that prescribing guidelines are followed and there is formulary adherence • Provide Advice and Guidance service that will enable GPs to better manage their patients in primary care • Provide a service with minimal waits • Integrate with other services to ensure collaborative working and seamless transition of patient care • Improve patient health outcomes by addressing health inequalities related to poor diet The procurement is expected to go live in early February 2018 and documentation will be available to interested suppliers through the ProContract System e-portal.

HVCCG would like to invite interested providers to a market place event to be held on Thursday 1st February 2018 at the following venue: Holiday Inn Hotel, Langley Suite, Breakspear Way, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2 4UA The event will commence at 11.00am until 1.00pm.

Please confirm your attendance by emailing the Procurement Team, NEL Commissioning Support Unit at NELCSU.ProcurementNorthants@nhs.net by no later than Tuesday 30th January 2018.

Please note that the Holiday Inn Hotel has now implemented parking charges in the car park.

However, there will be no charge as long as you register your car with reception on arrival for the event.
