The project is to deliver community flood schemes in the village of South Pool in South Hams and Longbrook Street in Exeter.
Eight houses on South Pool and four properties in Longbrook Street will undergo Property Level Flood Resilience (PFR) works with the aim to improve preparedness and resilience to the flood events which South Pool and Longbrook Street experience.
This commission is to finish off an existing PFR scheme where the previous contractor unfortunately went out of business.
Measures included in this scheme are: flood doors, demountable flood barriers, flood windows, non-return valves, air vent covers and puddle pumps, some of the required products are to be bespoke made in timber by the contractor.
Property flood risk surveys have already been completed by JBA Consulting and where required Listed Building Consent has been applied for and granted by the Local Planning Authority.
It will be essential that the new supplier delivers the required products in strict compliance of the existing consents that have been granted.
