Provision of a Statutory Funeral Service (with Municipal Provision)
This sits below the typical range for Other Community & Personal Services contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 5,835 valued Other Community & Personal Services tenders in our corpus.
The Service specifies those funerals that the Purchaser has a statutory duty to provide under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 (Statutory Funerals only) where there are no surviving family members, relatives or any other person who might reasonably be expected to arrange and pay for the funeral, or where no estate exists from which to recover funeral costs.
The Provider will render his or her contract directly to the Purchaser.
It is the duty of the Purchaser to make any arrangements to recover funeral costs from the estate of the deceased, where this is practicable.
The Service will also be open to anyone who has to arrange the funeral for a deceased resident of the Borough, who is to be buried at one of the Borough's Cemeteries or Cremated at Hollinwood Crematorium.
In these circumstances the Provider will render his or her account directly to the customer (a family member, relative or anyone arranging and paying for the funeral) without going through Purchaser.
