The brief

Direct award of an interim contract for a period of 21 months, with an option to extend for a further 12 months, to enable the CCG to facilitate the development of an Integrated Care Partnership in the Medway and Swale area and the formation and development of Primary Care Networks.

The development of the Integrated Care Partnership and Primary Care Networks will help the CCG to meet the ambitions of the NHS Long TermPlan, which was published in January 2019 and set out priorities for the NHS in England.

Following which, in 2022, the CCG intends to commence procurement of a new Community Services contract and transfer this service to the future provider of Community Services.

Recognising its obligations and responsibilities under the NHS (Procurement Patient Choice and Competition (No.2) Regulations 2013, the CCG has assessed the most appropriate route to awarding this contract, having regard to the necessity to secure continuity of this essential patient service and has concluded that the incumbent provider will assure the safest solution andbeing considered the only technically capable provider at this time.
