The aim of the project is to develop a training framework for frontline staff providing services for people with learning disabilities, autism or both in the four key areas of comorbidity in learning disability (ASD, Mental Health, behaviour problems and physical health).

All staff will need to have a minimum standard of training in all four domains.

It is then necessary to match training to the skills required by the typical patient group of the team the staff work in.

The skills set will be drawn from existing knowledge and skills frameworks, including the Generic Service Interventions Pathway, the Learning Disabilities Core Skills Education and Training Framework, the Forensic Workforce Competency Framework (to be launched in January 2019) and the Autism Competency Framework.
