Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
BHFT 0511 - Energy Audits & Decarbonisation Planning Services
The following sets out the requested scope for combined decarbonisation plans and energy and metering audits of Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's (BHFT) core estate.
Detailed surveys should be carried out at up to 13 sites, totalling approximately 36,364 square metres.
The purpose of this programme is to develop a detailed plan for BHFT that ensures the reduction of carbon emissions, efficient energy use, and a transition away from fossil fuels.
For all buildings included, the plans must comply with the Salix guidelines for Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme funding and be suitable for submission for future funding rounds.
The plans must adopt a whole building approach that aims to: - Reduce demand by making every kWh count - Prepare buildings for electricity-led heating - Transition away from fossil-fuel based heating - Increase on-site renewables Plans must also identify routes that will help ensure BHFT meets its NHS target of reducing its carbon footprint by 80% by 2030-2032.
In doing so, the plans should present a breakdown of carbon-saving opportunities at each site, with associated costs and payback, that enable long-term (8-10 year) multi-year planning and expenditure of capital budgets that will support our carbon reduction targets.
