The brief

To provide a building based day care service to support older adults (Over 65) including some people with mild to moderate dementia, although day care provision is not limited to any specific client group.

The purpose of the day care service is to: • Provide Service Users with a programme of activities and experiences during the day designed to help retain and improve daily living skills and to maintain the skills necessary for social engagement as specified in each individual's care plan. • To provide a respite service for Carers, by offering the same level of purposeful activity and skills maintenance to the Service Users as specified in his or her individual care plan.

Blackpool Council is seeking to appoint a single supplier to deliver building based day care to Older Adults.

The contract will be a spot contract with no guarantee of business.

Council commissioned services are purchased for individuals by Social Workers following a social care assessment and as part of individuals' care plans to meet assessed eligible needs.

The contract will run for 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years.

A single unit price (per person, per day session) of £31.24 will be paid.

This reflects the expectation that some service users may have high dependency needs and some may need more care, attention and supervision at times.
