Teach First Higher Education Provider
The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to notify the market of a forthcoming market engagement event relating to Teach First's intention to procure a Higher Education (HE) provider to contribute to a new Initial Teacher Training programme through the assessment and award of a PGCE.
Teach First will be undertaking an online event on Thursday 8 September between 12.30 and 13.30 for potential suppliers that are interested in responding to the planned procurement for this opportunity.
The event will take place via Microsoft Teams.
The successful provider will: • Work with a national cohort of trainees • Design an assessment model for the PGCE which aligns with the expectations of the new ITT Quality Requirements and the ITT Core Content Framework • Enrol trainees onto a PGCE course starting September 2023 • Lead the assessment of trainee assignment submissions, including timely feedback • Award a PGCE at the end of the academic year 2023/2024 to all eligible trainees • Develop appropriate structures to support programme adjustments such as deferrals or changes to length of study (e.g., due to illness or maternity leave) • Support trainees to access academic materials to enable their completion of their assignments, as well as support for academic writing and student services • Work collaboratively with Teach First to share data and reporting on trainee progress This is a pilot programme and there may be an opportunity to extend the contract length to cover future cohorts with the successful provider.
Teach First is seeking a provider who will ensure quality and value for money both of which will be embedded in the evaluation criteria as part of any subsequent procurement.
The delivery of services will start in September 2023, with partnership working and planning commencing from January 2023.
