The brief

The scope of the contract is asbestos analytical and surveying services (E.g.

Annual asbestos inspections) that Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Trust) undertakes both on a routine basis and as part of preparation for building project(s).

The Services consist of planned annual inspection of existing Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM)'s at each of the Trust's 3 main sites - Queen's Medical Centre, Ropewalk House and Nottingham City Hospital.

The purpose of the inspection is to assess the ongoing condition of ACM's and feedback to the Trust's estates team.

The objective is to allow management of the ongoing safety risks associated with ACM's.

The associated services include, but are not limited to, provision of surveys, e.g. management and/or refurbishment and demolition surveys, required on an ad-hoc basis.

The associated services may be required prior to undertaking a building project to refurbish an existing ward, for example.

The purpose of such surveys is to identify any risks posed by ACM's prior to commencement of any work, with the objective of mitigating potential accidental release of asbestos fibres.

The contract term is 24 months with the option to extend for a further 36 months.

This extension shall take the form of three 12 month incremental periods.
