The brief

The Library is inviting potential vendors to provide information and propose options and business solutions for the provision of a Digital Asset Management and Preservation solution.

This RFI is intended to identify possible solutions that will meet the British Library’s requirements over the course of the next decade, and if so, what the system capabilities are with regard to OAIS digital preservation functions, what functionality and services exist for operational support, what potential there is with regards to interoperability of other services and products already utilized by the Library, what are the likely costs of a large-scale multi-tenancy operation, and how might a Proof of Concept illustrate the suitability of proposed systems.

When submitting information, all organisations should note that this is not currently a tender opportunity, but is part of a market consultation exercise to ensure that the procurement route selected and the options ultimately developed for any procurement are properly informed.

If you are interested in participating in this RFI exercise please go to the British Library’s e-tendering portal at https://bl.bravosolution.co.uk, click on ‘Opportunity Listings’ and follow the on screen instructions in regards to registration and downloading the RFI documents.

This RFI will close on Friday 21st August 2015 at 12 Noon.
