LEM004g: Minor Electrical installation, metering and monitoring support services for the Cornwall LEM Programme
This sits below the typical range for Petroleum, Fuel & Energy Products contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 3,437 valued Petroleum, Fuel & Energy Products tenders in our corpus.
Centrica plc's Cornwall Local Energy Market project (LEM) is an EU-funded initiative involving the development of a virtual energy marketplace.
The trial provides homes and businesses with the technology and a software platform to buy and sell energy and flexibility to both the supply networks and the wholesale energy market.
The project's overarching aim is to demonstrate that the electricity distribution network can facilitate an increased penetration of renewable / low carbon electricity generation by invoking novel strategies including flexibility.
The LEM project will enable energy asset flexibility in the most constrained areas on the distribution network in Cornwall.
To this end the project will install low carbon energy generation assets, such as natural gas CHP, renewable energy generation, storage, private wire networks, and demand-side response technologies into selected industrial and commercial premises in Cornwall.
LEM project outputs also include the promotion of flexible energy generation, consumption and demand in the most constrained areas on the distribution network.
To this end the project is offering grants to support the installation of device level energy monitoring equipment in business premises across Cornwall and seeking to recruit businesses which have potential to offer demand-side response to participate in trials of the local energy market across 2019 and 2020.
Centrica is looking for an experienced electrical services contractor to provide support for the Cornwall LEM electrical installation, metering and monitoring activities by: • Conducting site surveys in businesses across Cornwall to understand the potential for and value of installing energy monitoring equipment and assess the scope for businesses to provide demand-side response as part of the Cornwall LEM trials • Where scope for providing demand-side response is identified, assessing the requirement for additional control, metering and monitoring equipment needed to enable the business to provide that response • Installation support and customer aftercare for the energy monitoring grants programme, including supporting the Cornwall LEM energy monitoring equipment grant recipients to install and maintain their equipment over the course of the contract The full Invitation to Tender which will become available after you register your interest.
