Cancer Screening Reminder Calls To provide a screening reminder service for bowel cancer and cervical cancer screening in Camden for up to 3000 patients.

Budget £30,000 Bowel cancer screening To include: 1.

To set up data in each GP Practice 2.

Health Facilitator to travel to GP Practices to do calls from their premises 3.

To do up to three attempts to reach patients at different dates/times 4.

To carry out an education intervention on why it is important to complete the screening kit and what signs and symptoms to look out for 5.

To send summary of calls to Practice Manager at the end of all calls 6.

To request replacement kits from the Bowel London HUB on patient’s behalf 7.

To do follow up calls after 4-6 weeks of requesting replacement kits to those patients who agreed to be called again Cervical cancer screening To include: 1.

Extract data on patients who have not attended appointments in the last 6 months 2.

Health Facilitator to travel to GP Practices to do calls from their premises 3.

To do up to three attempts to reach patients at different dates/times 4.

To carry out an education intervention on why it is important to complete the screening and what signs and symptoms to look out for 5.

To work with practices to book patients into appointments where they wish to do so 6.

To advise patients of other options available (sexual health centres) 7.

To code the result of the intervention on GP practice systems To produce a report at the end of the project detailing the impact of the intervention and any themes from phone calls about the barriers to undertaking bowel and cervical screening to inform future interventions.

To provide monthly updates to the CCG contract manager.
