From 1st October 2023 the Care Quality Commission is required to exercise the maternity and newborn safety investigation (MNSI) programme functions previously exercised by the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB), which was a part of NHS England.
By statutory Directions, the above referenced contract was transferred from NHS England to CQC.
