The brief

Our exit from the EU will have significant consequences for HMRC business and our customers.

Corporate Finance have led 5-year business planning with the Business Groups and have provided the requirement for resource demand and locations.

To deliver Brexit, HMRC will need to increase overall headcount to prepare for and carry out extra work related to Brexit.

This in turn will mean that estate needs to be found on either a temporary or permanent basis to accommodate the staff increase.

Capacity has been identified to accommodate up to 3,980 FTE by the end of FY 2018/19 against a peak Brexit demand in 2018/19 of c5,000 FTE.

Five Phase 1 locations have been identifed, with four already being covered under a previous commissioning request due to value. The remaining location that will require fit out, with new furniture to support the additional FTE is: 1.

Leeds, 3 Wellington Place - FTE 1000.

By 5th Dec 2018.

If furniture is not provided for this increased demand HMRC will be unable to support essential delivery of the UK's exit from the EU.

Estimated furniture requirements will be: 700 x 1400 bench workstations 700 x task chairs 1000 x individual lockers (140 units of 8) 700 x twin monitor arms A mixture of collaborate/quiet/meeting furniture to support.

Test fits for each floor are being produced to confirm actual furniture requirements.
