Lincolnshire County Council is looking for a supplier who is able to collect and treat of street cleanings residues (street sweepings and gully emptying's) for the Lincolnshire area.
Street sweeping and gully emptying material has the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) classification of 20-03-03 'Street Cleaning residue'.
Street Sweepings and Gully Emptying's may include but are not limited to silt, grit, sand, water, broken glass, litter, leaves and other vegetation.
It is also likely to contain a range of contaminants such as oil, diesel, small dead animals and salt.
They may also include heavy metals, other contaminants and have high leachable organic content.
The supplier will be required to collect waste (street sweepings) from collection points around the Lincolnshire area (Grantham, Sleaford, Boston, Louth and Gainsborough) and transport the waste to the supplier's treatment site.
The supplier may also be required to accept direct deliveries to the supplier treatment site.
The supplier will then subject the street sweeping and the gully emptying material to a mechanical and/or biological process that changes its characteristics such that the resulting products and residues of the process can be reclassified to Chapter 19 waste codes (List of Wastes Regulations 2005).
