The Authority currently receives updates of children's data from schools on a weekly basis.
The demand for data has increased significantly in recent years with requirements to bring in records from public and school facing portals having a significant impact on the amount of data received (2.5 million items) since 31 August 2017.
This increase is not new work but an increase in the existing requirement.
Around 80% of these incoming records relate to Addresses and Carer data.
Much of this data is currently discarded as a duplication of data we currently hold.
