The brief

Maritime & Coastguard Agency Design and Build works associated with the construction of a slimline, square steel, lattice tower.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) require the design and installation of a new 31m slimline steel lattice tower at Fairlight Remote Radio Site, Hastings, TN35 4AD.

The Works will comprise the following; Existing Guyed Mast • Demolition of the existing 30m guyed steel lattice mast Proposed Tower • Design, delivery to site and erection of a 31m slimline steel lattice tower • Construction of a suitable concrete tower foundation • General tower antenna rigging works • Ducting of cabling between proposed tower and garages The appointed Principal Contractor must be experienced and competent in terms of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

The works will be procured traditionally via single stage selective competitive tendering and let under a NEC Short Form of Construction Contract.

It is intended that this contract will be for a period of approximately 8 weeks between April and June 2018.

The contract has an approximate value between £70,000 and £120,000.
