When this comes round again

National Nuclear Laboratory publishes Laboratory & Precision Equipment work continuously — 20 notices, roughly one every 24 days. This is a stream to watch, not a cycle to wait for.

45% of National Nuclear Laboratory’s awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

NNL operates the country’s only electron optics capability equipped for the analysis of irradiated fuel and structural components.

This Procurement Specification covers the replacement of analytical equipment installed on the JEOL ARM 200CF transmission electron microscope (TEM) in NNL’s Central Laboratory.

The equipment required is an electron energy-loss analysis system, an imaging camera and a system that integrates the data capture with the microscope to produce spatially correlated datasets.
