Assessment, Psychosocial and Prescribing Support to the Adult Neurodevelopmental (ND) (Autism and ADHD) Service

Provision of a bespoke, community-based team of appropriately qualified and experienced medical professionals that are competent and have expertise in undertaking Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and/or ADHD diagnostic services, care and support to those service users referred to them through the KCHFT Single Point of Access (SPA).
The SPA will refer service users who are 18 years and over who have been identified as having a potential Autistic Spectrum Condition and/or ADHD, without learning disabilities.
The service will cover the geographic area of Kent & Medway and all referrals will be registered with a GP within Kent & Medway.
The provider will additionally support the transition of those service users approaching their 18th birthday and likely to require adult services.
The specialist community based multidisciplinary team will provide a timely, integrated, person-centred diagnostic and assessment.
The provider will ensure that their clinical professional team has expertise in the assessment and treatment of ASC and ADHD in young people and adults and be able to offer advice on non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatment.
Following assessment, the provider will make recommendations to include how the service user can access existing resources and support from within the Adult ND service, social care and/or mental health services for any identified needs.
Where service users' needs cannot be identified from within existing services, then to make suggestions about how these needs could be met and make recommendations about processes and staffing requirements in line with the NICE guidance on Autism Spectrum Conditions and ADHD.
Online - ADHD - assessment, titration and stabilisation.
Face to face - Autism - assessment and ADHD - assessment, titration and stabilisation (where online option not appropriate).
Face to face - Autism - complex presentation - assessment.
