NHS ARDEN AND GREATER EAST MIDLANDS COMMISSIONING SUPPORT UNIT
Teledermatology Software Market Engagement Demonstration Day
This is a Market Engagement Exercise only.
The Market Engagement Event will take place on Thursday 12th September 2019.
Further details regarding the format and location will be provided at a later date.
Additional CPV Code Dermatology services - 85121282 NHS Dudley CCG are currently reviewing the pathway for Dermatology into Acute and Community.
As part of the review the Dermatology Steering Group are exploring the possibility of including Advice & Guidance by using a Teledermatology solution.
The CCG currently has 43 GP Practices (all EMIS Web) covering a population of approximately 450,000 patients.
The Teledermatology solution that is being sought will be for all GPs to refer (for Advice & Guidance) to our main Acute Provider and a Community provider.
The service is currently offered via eRS (electronic Referral System) which is nationally commissioned by NHS England and delivered via NHS Digital.
There is an expectation that any advice and guidance provided for Dermatology (with the use of a Teledermatology solution) will still be processed seamlessly via eRS.
The supplier's software can be deliverable either via a mobile APP and/or equivalent PC client software or cloud-based portal and must include high resolution clinical pictures of lesions and rashes, high resolution dermoscopical photographs with basic +/- advanced AI (software).
The Suppliers must demonstrate experience of delivering software to support referral routes from Primary Care to Community and Acute Services.
Suppliers must also have relevant robust Information Governance compliance to ensure patient confidentiality is not compromised and data controllers not put at any risk regardless of significance.
Evidence of an overall reduction in referrals would be beneficial.
The CCG's final overall Dermatology service specification will only include Teledermatology based on the ability and availability within the market place (and supplier experience) of delivering software to support a Teledermatology service.
As this is a new service the CCG hope to gain insight from experts from across the market to ensure that expectations are realistically aligned.
Suppliers are also requested to ensure that the necessary standards for Teledermatology as per National guidelines (available for your reference attached) are taken into consideration when presenting their solution.
Following this Market Engagement Exercise the CCG will seek to develop and final service specification with the intention to commence a tender process later this year.
Please note that the CCG does not bind itself to undertake a competitive tender and may for example make the decision not to procure such support or consider alternative routes to market.
