Tagging of lesser black-backed gulls to provide evidence of their behaviour and habitat use from the Ribble & Alt Estuaries Special Protection Area (SPA)
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits below the typical range for Security, Defence & Safety Equipment contracts — a smaller, more accessible award. Based on 4,182 valued Security, Defence & Safety Equipment tenders in our corpus.
gulls (LBBGs) from the Ribble Estuary breeding colony were fitted with Movetech GPS-GSM tags to obtain a detailed understanding of their movement patterns and in particular their flight height.
Although the work was successful, the BTO recommended that the University of Amsterdam Tracking System (UvA) offers a better option for studying flight heights of adult gulls.
Eight UvA tags were subsequently purchased by Natural England through a further contract with the BTO.
