The brief

The event has been arranged in response to a request by the Midlands and East Regional Team (NHS England) who wish to better understand the supply and demand dynamics which underpin the commissioning and provision of services for Learning Disability clients in anticipation of likely future requirements arising from the Transforming Care Programme.

The Transforming Care Programme was established to improve the health and care system for people with learning disabilities or autism who also have mental health conditions or behaviour which is challenging.

The event seeks to engage with potential service providers to identify a range of suitable treatment programmes.

It also aims to identify the timescales involved in establishing such programmes, the resources required, and any potential obstacles that may be encountered.

The event should ideally be attended by heads of service with professional responsibility for managing service delivery, plus those that would be able to propose business cases for service expansion / new service creation within their organisation.

For further details, including the venue details and times of the event, and to request a place, please contact Mark Abrahams, Procurement Lead, on 07830 491153, or via email at mark.abrahams@gemcsu.nhs.uk Note: places are limited.

The event may be held in the format of focus groups or one to one meeting slots.

An expression of interest in attending the event will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement exercise, nor does it commit either NHS England or NHS Arden & GEM CSU to carry out a procurement exercise.

Any procurement conducted as a result of this event will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when it is published.
