When this comes round again

National Nuclear Laboratory publishes Laboratory & Precision Equipment work continuously — 20 notices, roughly one every 24 days. This is a stream to watch, not a cycle to wait for.

45% of National Nuclear Laboratory’s awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

NNL have a requirement to understand the chemical compatibility of four different polymeric materials.

Specifically, there is a requirement to investigate the permeation performance of the material(s) when in contact with any chemical which it may be exposed to during use.

The test required is known as “breakthrough testing” or permeation testing and will provide information of the performance of the material when exposed to the chemicals for prolonged periods of time.
