When this comes round again

Southend City Council publishes Other Community & Personal Services work continuously — 5 notices, roughly one every 70 days. This is a stream to watch, not a cycle to wait for.

40% of Southend City Council’s awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

Community Builders will “walk the streets” in the four Localities of the city and undertake strength-based conversations with residents, they will become a familiar and trusted person by residents, local businesses and organisations.

They will identify community connectors who can also have these conversations in their networks.

The Community Builders will rebuild residents and communities trust in their own strengths and assets and encourage connections to be made between residents.

In turn residents will link up around their very local priorities to develop projects and activities to address them.

Residents could invite the public sector and voluntary sector partners to help, where that help is welcome, and to support the community where it is required.
