This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This is a large award for Software & IT Systems — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 30,286 valued Software & IT Systems tenders in our corpus.
The OutSystems low-code application development platform was acquired to accelerate the process of developing and deploying bespoke software solutions for Services within the County Council.
It is one of IT & Digital's underpinning digital capabilities.
A low code application development platform makes development quicker and simpler than traditional development hand crafting program code.
This reduces the organisation's reliance on expensive technical staff that are hard to recruit.
Components can be easily shared between applications and there is a large user community with open-source components, all contributing to ease and speed of development through reuse.
The platform builds in security protection, so it is not down to individual developers.
There is also a very easy deployment process and comprehensive, in-built monitoring tools for the solutions that are live.
A range of business functions across Surrey County Councils now depend upon solutions built on the OutSystems platform: • 11 Live Applications, with one additional application in the advanced stage of development • 3 Applications support critical statutory functions for Social Care and Schools • 5 Applications are public facing • 3 Applications engage with Partners & Suppliers of services • 4 Application involved in revenue generation Included in these applications are; • School Appeals Application • Emergency Duty Log for Adults and Childrens services • Highways Access Protection Marking service • Highways License Application systems for Scaffolding, Hoardings, Mobile Units (e.g. cranes), Store Materials on Highway • Homebased care calculator for Adult Social Care • SEND Advise Surrey (case management system) • Adults Outsourcing Outcomes System • Skips Licensing Currently in development is a Temporary Traffic Lights Reporting System.
