Panel Convenor Training - Following the success of the Panel Process Adviser pilot in EPSRC in 2024/5, we are looking for a specialist training partner to provide state of the art training that strengthens our Panel Convenors’ knowledge, confidence, and ability to intervene when needed to ensure fair and objective decision making when convening funding panels.
This support will help create a lower pressure panel environment where convenors have the cognitive space and autonomy to act effectively.
Scope of Requirement Overview: • This procurement seeks to appoint a supplier to design and deliver training for EPSRC panel convenors, who are EPSRC staff responsible for convening and running peer review panels.
The training will support convenors to lead panels effectively, consistently and transparently, in line with EPSRC governance requirements, UKRI’s Principles of Peer Review, and EPSRC’s commitments under its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plans. • The scope of the requirement covers the development, delivery and iterative improvement of training content that builds EPSRC’s internal capability to manage panel processes, mitigate risks of bias, and ultimately further strengthen confidence in funding decision making.
