The brief

The Strategic Transport team ast City of Wolverhampton Council are designing and constructing a range of active travel projects, to promote and enable sustainable transport, and improve connectivity across the city.

This project is to undertake detailed design for walking and cycling routes within the northern section of the A4150 ring road corridor, between Chapel Ash island and Broad Street, and east to connect to existing cycle links at A4124 Wolverhampton Road / Wednesfield Road.

As part of this commission, the design will include lighting and safety upgrades to two railway underpasses at Broad Street and Lock Street.

The commission will also include a feasibility study to improve connectivity and public realm between the city centre and the University's Springfield campus, which also links into the Council's wider Green Infrastructure Corridor project, for sustainable connectivity to other University buildings and innovation businesses to the north of the city.
