The brief

To undertake an audit of the refurbishment of the Westminster Hall Stonework Conservation Project and to assess the success of the project by reference to the following assignment terms: • To evaluate the relevant business case and to ensure that this was approved in accordance with established governance procedures; • To ensure that the tender specification and the selection of contractor(s) were conducted appropriately; • To review project documentation to ensure that a full audit trail exists, particularly for key decision points; • To evaluate the effectiveness of project management, including financial control and risk management; • To assess whether the project has met its objectives and delivered the expected benefits to appropriate standards of quality and utility; • To consider whether the completed project represents value for money; • To identify any useful lessons or issues from this project; and • To produce a written report detailing all findings, conclusions, recommendations, etc.
