The brief

Mobile library graphics - Expression of Interest brief.

Name of job: Design for the Exterior of two new Mobile library vehicles, 8.5m long, 2.4m wide, and 3.3m high.

Plans attached.

Introduction and background: We have commissioned two new vehicles to replace older vehicles in the fleet.

They will arrive in either a prescribed single colour or white.

Design to be applied by use of vinyl wrapping or partial wrapping.

Ideally we would like to see examples of previous relevant work with ideas /sketch of proposal.

We will fit the same design to both vehicles with some possible slight changes in format & layout Marketing / communications objectives: Bright catchy look to reflect the nature of the service with 'Mobile Library' clearly visible from all angles.

Design to appeal to the wide variety of service users, young and older people, and rural communities.

Cambridgeshire County Council branding guidelines to be integrated where possible and design to be considerate of all aspects of society.

CCC logo to be shown.

Key message: Promote the Mobile Library service as a free community service at the heart of the community, to act as outreach for Cambridgeshire County Council and the library service.

Let people know it's coming to their area Everybody is welcome to step onboard.

Audience: Members of the public, particularly those in the rural areas.

Older people and young families primarily.

Current and prospective users of the Library service.

Budget: This expressions of interest exercise is to gather ideas and samples of work the designer feels would be relevant to this piece of work.

We have a budget in the region of £1500 for the designs for both vehicles once a candidate has been chosen.

Timings: Submissions for consideration needed by 20th Nov 2019 and Designer will be told if successful before 22nd Dec 2019 Final artwork from successful candidate needed 1st Feb 2020.
