This is a large award for Engineering & Architecture — above three-quarters of comparable contracts. Based on 33,646 valued Engineering & Architecture tenders in our corpus.

When this comes round again

Bromford has published 75 notices across all categories, and 35% of its awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

The scope for this procurement process is to establish an overarching Design services framework agreement with a small number of competitively selected design consultants.

Bromford are moving towards ‘standard’ house types, however, without in-house capability we will still need the services of designers to carry out feasibility studies and site appraisals plus support the planning process and re-design where required to meet planning requirements.

The framework will be divided into Lots covering Project Architect, Project Structural Engineer and Project Civil Engineer.

Lot 1 - Project Architect (below 50 units) for Feasibility, Planning and Detailed Design stages.

Inclusive of site appraisal, planning pack, site-specific working drawings and ongoing support through the construction stage.

Lot 2 - Project Architect (above 50 units) for Feasibility, Planning and Detailed Design stages.

Inclusive of site appraisal, planning pack, site-specific working drawings and ongoing support through the construction stage.

Lot 3 - Project Structural Engineer for Feasibility and Detailed Design stages.

Inclusive of preliminary information, detailed designs and ongoing support through the construction stage.

Lot 4 - Project Civil Engineer for Feasibility, Planning and Detailed Design stages.

Inclusive of site appraisal, planning pack, site-specific detailed design and ongoing support through the construction stage.

What this notice demands of you

1 named, none in explicit obligation language. Each one is quoted from the notice.

Framework agreement (any)Frameworks & routes to market
The scope for this procurement process is to establish an overarching Design services framework agreement with a small number of competitively selected design consultants.

Matched against the notice text, so this is a floor — the tender pack will demand things the notice never mentions. “Says must” means the quoted sentence itself used obligation language; anything ambiguous is left as a mention.
