The Case Handling System used by the Police Ombudsman NI is currently hosted locally on a stand-alone server at its offices located in Belfast.
There is no remote access to this system and staff have to be physically in the building to gain access.
The constraints of this set-up have hindered access for staff when not in the office, which has become a significant issue over the course of the last year with lockdown measures due to Covid 19.
As a result, it has been decided modify the contract to move the CHS system (along with other key systems) onto the ITAC secure hosting service which will facilitate access for all staff without having to be physically present in the office.
