The brief

Arts Council England is commissioning an external evaluation of the Museum Development programme over the period 2015-22 covering two grant periods: 2015-18 and 2018-22.

The Arts Council invested £9m in grants to 9 regional providers for the period 2015-18 and £12.4m for the period 2018-22.

Our aim for the programme-level evaluation is to understand the value of the Museum Development programme over time in terms of impact and the story of change, to help inform Arts Council's role as the national development agency for museums in England beyond 2022.
