Pre-employment screening checks

The GMC carries out robust pre-employment checks before a new staff member or associate can start at the GMC.

As part of these pre-employment checks, we carry out basic criminal background checks for all staff and associates on appointment and standard criminal background checks for lawyers and chartered or certified accounts.

Staff members and associates are required to complete a further basic or standard criminal background check once every four years.

We are looking for an organisation who can work with us on an ongoing basis to provide online pre-employment screening checks.

This includes ?

Basic criminal background checks for staff and associates on appointment and on rechecking once every four years from the Disclosure and Barring Service or Disclosure Scotland, ?

Standard DBS checks for lawyers and Chartered/ Certified Accountants ?

Financial checks as described above or a similar check ?

References to support our in-house team during peak periods of recruitment ?

Any other pre-employment screening services on a needs basis
