Green Garden Waste Processing and Disposal Services
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits in the upper-middle of the Environment & Waste band — a substantial contract for the sector. Based on 11,894 valued Environment & Waste tenders in our corpus.
The Council currently runs a green garden waste collection scheme whereby residents of the district can opt in to the scheme for an annual charge of £46 (as at 2017) and in return receive a fortnightly collection of green garden waste (except for the two collections in the Christmas/New Year period).
Approximately 23,000 households participate in the scheme, which results in an estimated 9,000 tonnes of garden waste being collected each year.
The number of customers and resultant collection tonnage are due to continue to increase.
The increase would be projected at an additional 200-400 tonnes per year.
