The brief

This notice of contract award is for the purpose of transparency only and applies to the award of a contract for extra-care service provision within the Test Valley district of Hampshire (i.e. this being LOT 5 of six LOTS of extra-care provision tendered through the procurement exercise AS08295 Hampshire Extra-care).

The service will provide stability and consistent availability and quality of extra-care service provision, that ensures individuals’safety and protection from harm; and consistency in delivery of care and support at night–including unplanned care as necessary.

The service will work effectively with those seeking to access extra-care, extra-care accommodation providers, the District Council and County Council to facilitate effective and appropriate access arrangements.

The service will generate increased opportunities for individuals to participate in social and communal activities within the schemes; promote individuals’ independence, health and wellbeing - including through complementing assistive technology solutions linked to individuals’ packages of care; and support implementation within schemes of a new “Waking Night and Wellbeing" funding model relating to waking night support, alarm response, and communal/social activity support.

Service provision will included the regulated activity of delivery of "personal care that can be delivered in a persons home and/or Extra Care" in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 within the extra-care schemes Lion Oak Court and Warner Court, both of which are located in Andover in Hampshire.

The schemes will have a contracted capacity of 91 units.
