The London Borough of Camden is seeking to award a contract for the provision of extra care services at Mora Burnet House.
Mora Burnet House, a property owned by Origin Housing Management Services for the scheme, which is a 35-unit extra care sheltered housing scheme located in Swiss Cottage.
The scheme will offer an alternative to residential care for older people, through supporting older vulnerable people living in their own tenancies in a dedicated building in order to maintain and develop their independent living skills, maintain their tenancies, link them into appropriate services and provide care and support.
The importance of tenants' opportunities to contribute to the life of the scheme and all associated decisions will be central to the ethos for the service.
The scheme will provide high quality care and support for vulnerable older people with multiple needs, including varying degrees of physical frailty, learning disabilities, mental health needs including dementia, or a combination of these.
It is anticipated that the number of tenants with dementia accessing the service will increase over time.
The scheme will provide care for people from Camden's wide range of Black, Minority and Ethnic (BME) communities.
The service will be accessible, appropriate and welcoming for people of different religions and cultural backgrounds and will be proactive in developing a service that recognises and values diversity.
The overarching philosophy will be to provide a home for life environment.
