Kent Police has published 44 notices across all categories, and 46% of its awards go to a supplier it has used before.
Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →
Kent Police and Essex Police (the Authority) require a supplier to design and supply vehicle racking solutions, including racking and flooring.
The typical requirements of this contract are likely to include, but not be limited to, crime scene investigation vehicles, marine vehicles, traffic patrol cars, covert vans and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) vehicles.
The Authority requires a supplier who will work with them in partnership to provide the following goods and services: - Attending Kent Police or Essex Police premises to see the equipment that needs to be stored within a particular vehicle and understand any particular use requirements linked to that vehicle and the equipment that it will carry; - Design and price a lightweight, durable, robust and crash safe Storage Solution for that vehicle type to meet the needs outlined taking account of weight and load stipulations and the equipment to be carried; and - Where the order is confirmed, supply and deliver the Storage Solution in an advanced assembled form that can be installed by the Customer's Trained Vehicle Technicians in accordance with instruction provided by the Supplier.
The most common lead-time on new vehicles ordered by the Customer is in the region of 12 weeks.
The most common scenario envisaged under this contract is that the Customer will order a vehicle for a specific use.
The requirement is that where a new vehicle is ordered with a Storage Solution requirement, that Storage Solution requirement can be identified, specified, designed, approved, ordered and delivered within that 12 week window.
This will enable the Storage Solution to be fitted by the Customer upon delivery of the new vehicle and enable the new vehicle to enter operational use as soon as possible following delivery.
The supplier will be expected to design vehicle storage solutions to particular vehicle model types that are crash safe tested and designed for particular use and equipment requirements.
The supplier will be able to provide advanced assembled solutions for final vehicle installation by appropriately trained Kent Police or Essex Police vehicle technicians.
Estimated Contract Value: £50,000 to £130,000 Contract Duration: 2 years
