Kent Police - Provision of Vehicle Recovery, Movement, Storage and Release Srvcs Early Engagement - Contracts Finder
Kent Police has published 44 notices across all categories, and 46% of its awards go to a supplier it has used before.
Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →
Procurement Services, on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent, is undertaking soft market testing in relation to the provision of services to recover vehicles and other property, including storage, secondary movements and release, to meet the operational and strategic policing needs of the Police in the County of Kent.
Other property will include but is not limited to large and heavy items of plant, equipment, and machinery.
The Commissioner, prior to commencing any formal tender, invites interested potential service providers to state which Lots (geographic areas, light or heavy recoveries) they might be interested in bidding for, and to submit any comments on the DRAFT specification.
The Lots have currently been selected taking into account the Kent policing model, resilience, and the distance of travel to incidents for potential contractors and for access to vehicles by the organisation and the public, and also by light recovery (vehicles under 3.5 tonnes MAM) and heavy recovery (vehicles over 3.5 tonnes MAM).
Disposal services may also be required.
The DRAFT specification can be downloaded from the portal at http://kentpolice.bravosolution.co.uk (project reference 17219).
This contains details (all info is subject to change) of the services required, and also the standards, facilities and equipment that will be required to be maintained by contractors under the scheme.
This exercise may be followed by further engagement in early 2017 at a Kent Police site (to be confirmed).
This market engagement will not influence the selection of bidders.
