Line Management Skills Training
This is a contract result notice, not an open opportunity. Details from the official award data.
This sits in the lower-middle of the Education & Training band — a mid-scale opportunity. Based on 23,516 valued Education & Training tenders in our corpus.
Project Aim To ensure that all people managers have the correct skills to achieve the business objectives by proactively managing the team performance.
In addition to have the skills and confidence to deal with reactive performance and conduct issues.
This will ensure the MMO has a future proof talent pipeline.
To also ensure on an on-going basis that newly appointed managers have the skills and tools to be able to undertake their role.
Background Some managers have been promoted based on technical ability, but have been given little or no relevant training in managing people.
This has led to some inefficiency, firstly when dealing with difficult staff and tackling performance issues, secondly how to enhance the performance of performing staff.
We believe the most effective method of training would be using a blended learning approach.
The percentage turnover is at an acceptable level but, due to the size of our organisation, the practical impact of staff turnover is significant in the loss of knowledge and proactive management will help to reduce this impact by extracting the knowledge and/or retaining the individuals.
In order to meet the Defra Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives, managers need to be equipped to manage an increasingly diverse workforce and move away from managing in their natural style as this will not be appropriate for all.
