The brief

The Staffordshire Commissioner seeks to commission an effective, tailored and co-ordinated adult modern slavery advice, guidance and support service for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

Modern Slavery presents a great number of overlapping issues and crimes which require a strong coherent partnership approach.

It is essential that all of us recognise that protecting people from slavery is everyone's business.

The focus of the service will therefore be to provide advice, guidance and support to adult victims for up to a period of 8 days (pre NRM reasonable grounds decision), where there is currently a gap in provision.

It is expected that the service will help the service user regain trust, provide advice on their options, reduce their vulnerability and address the needs of service users in a holistic manner.

It is expected that the procurement will commence in late June 2019.
