NWL CCG requires the service delivery and management of a Specialist Nursing for Mental Health Dementia Unit in the Triborough locality of North West London CCG.
The service offers long term inpatient care and treatment to older people with mental health (complex dementia) needs, many of whom also require support for their physical health needs or end of life care.
The service is provided from a Westminster location whose building is part of a lease agreement with the NHS.
All residents are currently detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 or staying at the Unit under Deprivation of Liberty safeguards.
The Admission criteria is for clients aged over 65 years of age and eligible for CHC or Sectioned under the Mental Health Act ( Specialist Dementia Needs) The Service commissioned by NWL CCG is for the care of older adults eligible for fully funded NHS Continuing Health Care , NHS Funded Discharge to Assess Clients or clients Sectioned under the Mental Act (Section 3).
A new provider is required to provide clinical support and management for patients in a 42 bed unit and in single sex wards with immediate effect.
Clinical support services require include: • Consultant Psychaitric Sessions for Clients with Complex Dementia Care Needs; • Admissions 7 days a week to support hospital discharge; and • High Quality of Care - CQC Rated Good.
The CCG currently has contract arrangements in place with Sanctuary Care Ltd until 31st March 2022 with an estimated value of £3,347,243 per annum.
NWL CCG is committed to assess the needs of the service users and consider how (if relevant) it needs to secure the needs of the people who use the services, and improve the quality and efficiency in the provision of the services including through the services being provided in an integrated way.
The purpose of this PIN is to be transparent about the CCG's intentions to undertake an immediate procurement process .
Any capable provider may come forward by 3rd June 2022 to engage with the CCG.
