The brief

Swansea Council (the Council) invites tenders for inclusion onto a Framework Agreement of educational providers for pupils who are educated within Swansea Pupil Referral Unit (PRU).

Swansea PRU caters for pupils aged from 5 – 16.

In its secondary provision, it serves to support young people aged 11-16 who are not educated in Schools.

The pupils who attend the PRU have severe and complex needs and can be highly challenging pupils in terms of their behaviour and attitudes to learning.

The aim of the framework is to provide additional curriculum and vocational support for pupils in the secondary phase of Swansea PRU.

These include pupils who are aged from 13 – 16 and who represent some of the most challenging young people in the Authority; in order to nurture a positive experience of full-time education by developing a unique programme of support bespoke to each young person.

This bespoke package will include varying amounts of academic content provided by teachers based at Swansea PRU combined with a vocational provision provided by the successful providers.

The programmes have each young person’s interests and needs at their centre.
