When this comes round again

West Yorkshire Combined Authority publishes Transport Services work continuously — 125 notices, roughly one every 9 days. This is a stream to watch, not a cycle to wait for.

51% of West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

The SEN Transport Team at WYCA is responsible for commissioning and overseeing Home to School transport contracts with taxi and minibus operators for children and young people with special education needs and disabilities on behalf of Wakefield Council.

The CA is implementing this DPS in order to approve suppliers to bid on these contracts.

In the past the contracts have been operated off an approved list and this DPS will work in a similar way by streamlining the process, making it easier to manage and less labour intensive for both the teams at WYCA and operators to bid against contracts.
