Newport City Council’s Private Sector Housing Adaptations Service operates an Approved List of Contractors (ALC) from which it invites tenders for contracts of work for individual, privately owned and occupied domestic dwellings.
Individual contracts are awarded (on a case by case basis) against individual properties – this is not a framework agreement The numbers of contractors included in each category of the ALC will be determined by annual service demand and budget.
Numbers are intentionally limited, however, not only to ensure the ongoing process of administering the ALC is manageable - but also to help develop and maintain more effective partnership working Housing Services does not guarantee that contractors on the ALC will receive invitations to tender as this is dependent on (i) budget (ii) demand for adaptation works in any financial year (iii) number of contractors included within the category for rotation This Approved List of Contractors will cover works below 50,000 GBP only
