We are seeking an experienced weight management provider that can demonstrate depth of understanding of the complexity of overweight and obesity and detailed knowledge of behaviour change theory.
Some aspects of this specification deviate from the standard 12-week programme approach to weight management.
There are also specific aims regarding engagement of priority population groups.
For this reason, the first 2 years of the contract will focus on developing and implementing delivery models During this time the provider will work in partnership with the commissioner and local stakeholders to develop and implement the local delivery models for both the adult and family service.
Data will be collected to understand uptake and impact across different population groups (minimum dataset).
This information will then inform further development and refinement of the local delivery model on an ongoing basis.
A formal review point is built in at the end of Year 2.
