When this comes round again

Swindon Borough Council has published 12 Transport Services notices, about every 7 months. On that rhythm the next one is expected around January 2027.

37% of Swindon Borough Council’s awards go to a supplier it has used before.

Which is the argument for getting on the list rather than winning this one. The incumbent is rarely the last winner — it is the roster. See the retention odds by category →

The brief

Swindon Borough Council (The Council) has set up a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of Passenger Transport Services.

Swindon Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers to apply to join the Dynamic Purchasing System for the provision of passenger transport services.

The Dynamic Purchasing System has been split into 5 Lots: Lot 1 Bus & Coach – Individual routes / bus services (public, education and social care transport).

Lot 2 Minibus - Individual routes (public and education transport).

Lot 3 Taxi - Individual routes (public and education transport).

Lot 4 Minibus Social Care and Community Transport – this will consist of dial a ride and shopping service, day centre and ad hoc transport requirements.

Lot 5 Taxi Social Care Transport - Complete Package of all routes and service needs If you are successfully appointed to the DPS following your submission you will be invited by the Council to submit tenders for relevant services through a call for competition.

This DPS remains open for any supplier to request to participate throughout the duration of the DPS.

To participate, Suppliers will need to Register as a Supplier with ProContract, www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk, then Register an Interest before obtaining access to the Application documents.

In the event of difficulties registering as a supplier, please refer to the System Administrator Proactis support team ProContractSuppliers@proactis.com This DPS has been extended for a further 44 months to 23 February 2029.

We reserve the right to extend, shorten or terminate, in part or whole, any Lot or the entire DPS at any time
