Wigan Council is seeking to appoint a provider to deliver an Emotional and Mental Health Service for Children and Young People in Care and Care Leavers.
The service will provide flexible, evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic and preventative support to children and young people in care, care leavers and their carers.
Interventions will include a range of psychological and therapeutic approaches, individual and group work, therapeutic parenting support, psychological consultation and formulation, systemic and dyadic approaches, assessments and evidence-based parenting programmes.
The service will work closely with Wigan Council's social care teams to improve the mental health, emotional wellbeing and resilience of children and young people, support carers and foster carers, prevent escalation to more specialist services, and promote placement stability and permanence.
A key focus will be ensuring that support is responsive and tailored to the individual needs and circumstances of children, young people and their carers.
The service will support Wigan children and young people in care whether placed within or outside the Wigan Borough.
Delivery will be flexible and may take place across a range of appropriate venues, with some out-of-hours provision required where necessary.
